Eye Exams

At Angelo Eye Center, we offer a variety of eyecare services for patients of all ages.  There are 2 types of eye exams:  Eye Wellness Exams and Medical Eye Exams.  An eye appointment is broken up into 2 parts.  The first part is called a refraction, known as CPT code 92015.  A refraction is a separate billable procedure that determines the prescription you will need for glasses and or contacts to achieve your best overall vision.   A refraction is not an eye exam.   The second part of the visit is called the EYE EXAM.  An comprehensive eye exam determines your overall eye health and function. We look for abnormalities like: Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy,  Infection, Inflammation,  Brain Tumors,  High Cholesterol, Hypertion (High Blood Pressure), Macular Degeneration and many other eye diseases.   When a person comes in with a medically related eye condition seeking medical treatment, then this is called a medical eye exam/office visit.    A medical eye office visit is specific and targeted to examine and treat the part of the eye that is causing the problem. Patients coming in for a medical eye exam typically need medicine or surgery to treat their medical eye condition(s).shutterstock_199870877

This type of exam are for patients who really are not having any complaints, they just want to make sure their eyes are healthy and that they are seeing correclty.  We will asses your over all eye health and vision at the day of your exam.  A prescription for glasses will released at the end of the exam for the patient that needs vision correction or an update in their glasses.

Pediatric Eye Wellness Exam:   An eye exam for patients who are 17 years of age or younger.  We determine the over all eye health status of your child and will determine if your child needs eyeglasses or not.  We see children of all ages.
